{"id":483,"date":"2022-12-08T19:52:15","date_gmt":"2022-12-08T19:52:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/duplicationnation.com\/?p=483"},"modified":"2024-06-21T15:08:15","modified_gmt":"2024-06-21T15:08:15","slug":"the-people-you-think-are-too-big-to-be-sponsored","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/duplicationnation.com\/blog\/the-people-you-think-are-too-big-to-be-sponsored\/","title":{"rendered":"The People You Think are Too Big to Be Sponsored"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">By Randy Gage<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A director on my front line called to ask if I would accompany him on a one-on-one presentation.\u00a0 I was kind of surprised, because he had a large group, and hadn\u2019t needed help with a presentation for months.\u00a0 I asked why.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It turns out the guy he was prospecting was the CEO of a multi-billion-dollar public company, a guy who was in the business pages and financial publications every week.\u00a0 The candidate made a $10 million salary, and also had stock options which made him millions more.\u00a0 He went to the same church as my guy, and so that\u2019s how the connection was made.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">How could I resist?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We went to the appointment, which was in the candidate\u2019s office.\u00a0 (Now that\u2019s a mistake, but I went along with it, because it was already arranged.)\u00a0 His office was bigger than the apartment I lived in. Seriously.\u00a0 He had a conference table in there that probably cost at least fifty grand.\u00a0 I was a little on edge, but we sat on the end of that table and started the presentation.\u00a0 The candidate sat through it very attentively.\u00a0 When I was finished, he admitted that it was quite fascinating, but he couldn\u2019t get involved because his contract with his employer prohibited him from doing any other business ventures.\u00a0 He went on to say that he was delighted my guy had found the opportunity and even recommended some people he thought would be good for the business.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There are a couple of significant lessons from that encounter\u2026<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">First, some of the highest paid people in the world are still slaves to their job, and don\u2019t own their own life.\u00a0 Isn\u2019t that fascinating?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Second: The easiest people to get presentations with are usually the most busy, ambitious, successful people on your list.\u00a0 And the hardest people to get in front of are the ones who are the people who need it the most!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Why?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Because that\u2019s why the people who need it the most need it the most.\u00a0 They might be lazy, closed minded, or just so busy meeting with their parole officer or watching reality shows they don\u2019t have time to meet. \u00a0 Look for the guy who works two jobs, volunteers at his church, and drives part-time for Uber \u2013 and you\u2019ll often find someone who will make time to see your presentation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The candidates you may discount the most \u2013 professionals like doctors, executives, lawyers and accountants \u2013 may be at a stage in their career where they\u2019ve finally recognized that they are victims of the trading-hours-for-money trap.\u00a0 Once they reach this stage, they\u2019re usually quite open to finding out how they can harness the power of leverage for financial security.\u00a0 Adjust your sponsoring mindset and strategy to reflect this reality, and you\u2019ll see a lot more growth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">- RG<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Randy Gage A director on my front line called to ask if I would accompany him on a one-on-one presentation.\u00a0 I was kind of surprised, because he had a large group, and hadn\u2019t needed help with a presentation for months.\u00a0 I asked why.
